Privacy policy

Last updated 31 October 2026

In short: learntpu.dev sets no cookies, has no accounts, shows no ads and never uploads your course progress. It counts page views with Umami, a cookieless analytics service. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages.

Your course progress stays in your browser

Your progress is stored only in your own browser's local storage, under the key tpudd:v1. That covers chapters marked as read, quiz and exam answers and scores, time spent, flashcard schedules, and teach-back explanations. It is never sent to us or to anyone else. Nobody, including the site's maintainer, can see it.

  • To copy it to another browser, use Export progress and Import progress on the Your data page.
  • To delete it, use Erase all progress on the same page, or clear this site's data in your browser settings.
  • Private browsing windows usually discard it when closed.

Page-view analytics (Umami)

To understand which chapters are read, the site uses Umami Cloud. It loads a script from cloud.umami.is on each page. According to Umami:

  • it does not use cookies and does not collect personal data;
  • it records the page address, the referring site, browser, operating system, device type and country;
  • your IP address is used to determine your country and is not stored.

No user identifiers, names or email addresses are sent to Umami, and the site sends no custom data beyond page views. Umami's own privacy information is at umami.is/privacy. If you block the script with a content blocker, the site works the same.

Hosting (GitHub Pages)

The site is served by GitHub Pages. When you visit, GitHub receives standard request information, including your IP address, and states that it logs visitor IP addresses for security purposes. GitHub's handling of that data is described in the GitHub General Privacy Statement.

Other third parties

Fonts and all other assets are served from the site itself: no Google Fonts, no external CDNs and no social media embeds. Citation links lead to other websites, such as arXiv, Google Cloud, NVIDIA and AWS, whose own privacy policies apply once you follow them.

Children

The course is written for professional engineers and is not directed at children.
